I bought a stainless steel undermount sink and had it installed when the granite slab was put. A couple weeks after installing it it got a rust stain from a can that was left in it. Obviously, it is not stainless steel or else this would have not happened. I want to return it and don't know how to remove it.

Look under the sink and you should see maybe four clips attached to the granite that hold the sink in place. It should also be calked to the granite so you sill have to cut the calking loose.

The people who installed your counter might be willing to come and uninstall it. I polished granite/marble slabs for a while (an ex owned a business) and the guys there were really willing to help customers.

Granite is a lot tougher than marble though. So you may be able to do it yourself.

Nonsense, the rust is from the can. Wash the sink with Zud or Barkeeper's friend. The oxalic acid will remove the rust.

Educate yourself about the world around you. So many people are so clueless.
