this is a quantum physics spin off of schrodinger's cat. the truth is that with no observer there is nothing. and there is everything. all possiblities exsist until the observer defines the observation. so therefor if you follow this quantum theorie, you come to the conclusion that if a tree was in a forest and there was no observer then it is both not fallen and falling and making noise at the same time. in addition to this, sound is a wave of bouncing atoms, the ear is a diaphram much like a drum and when these bouncing waves hit this drum the vibration it creates is taken to the brain where the sub-conscious translates it into a sound you understand. and therefor also that if there is no ear there to translate the wave to sound it remains a wave and never becomes a sound.

Just because a human being isn't there to hear the tree falling doesn't mean animal ears would not hear the tree falling. Either way, it's more than likely to make a sound.

Yes, due to advanced sceince and boarning logic, we can conclusivly deduse that the tree will produce a sound, even if there is no audible sound reaching the ear of humans.

Of course it does, since there was no humans around what about the animals present. It is said that when a leaf falls the eagles sees it, the deer hears it and the bear smelled it. The animals heard it and so there you have it.

If a man does the washing-up and his wife isn't there to see him do it, has he really done anything at all?
I don't doubt that the falling tree makes a sound.

Technically no. Since sound only exists if there is a means to receive it, whether a person, or an object, or an animal. So if there is no receiver then the sound diesn't exist.
