I lost over 80lbs during my last pregnancy. My doctor told me that since I was heavy to began with that losing weight would be fine as long as the baby was growing and looking healthy. So if you want to eat right and exercise there is nothing wrong with that. Maybe at your next appt you should talk to your doctor about that.

It is NOT ok to lose weight while pregnant because your baby depends on all what you take. When you are pregnant, you should eat the right food for having a healthy baby.

I gained weight with my first child and lost weight without trying with my second. I gained weight with my last two as well. It's not uncommon but they might need to check your ketone levels to see if you've developed gestational diabetes. However, dieting while pregnant is forbidden if you want a healthy baby, anything nutrient wise the baby will take from you and if you are low on some of the nutrients it could be a serious situation.

It is healthy as long as you don't starve yourself.
The whole pregnancy process will be much smoother
if you walk a few miles everyday. Maybe even do a little
bit of light weight lifting. Eat healthy. Fruits, veggies, not
too much fish or tuna. Chicken and ground turkey are great
be sure to also get enough calcium and healthy fats.

Look at Barnes and Noble or BORDERS for pregnancy diet books.

I lost weight during all 3 of my pregnancies. The most important thing is to eat nutritious food when you can eat. All of my babies were normal weight and healthy. This is not something you can control but you should not 'diet' or overeat when pregnant, nutrition is the key.

I lost 6 pounds when I first found out I was pregnant, only because I had completely stopped eating junk food. I was still eating 3 meals and snacks, but I was adding more fruits and veggies to my diet.

Depends on your situation, of course... If you were overweight it is okay. If you have severe nausea, it is okay in the first trimester, but you should check with your doctor.
