Depends on what part of the 80's u are taking about. The early 80's fasopns was still weening of the 70's. Ever watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High? That was released in 82 and there was still a 70's vibe. The 80's were all about big, big hair, big make make up, and wild clothes. Woman often wore bright eyeshadow from lashline, to brow bone. Blush was obvious and unnatural. Clothes were bright, shoulder pads were popular for time, accesories were key.

the 1980's were all about EXCESS

Huge shoulder pads
Loud Colors
Big hair was "in"

Fashion in the 1980's reflected the boom economy and over-spending. People were buying more clothes. Trends came and went at a faster pace.

Gaucho Pants - high waist slim fit through upper hip and flared to just below knee

Boots to knee with squared toe, 2 1/2 heel

Hair in a body wave that looks best fluffed out with a rake comb

Shirt that has an elastic 3 1/2" waistband, like a fashionable sweatshirt.

I remember wearing leggings that had a skirt attached to it with a wide elastic waist band. To top it, I wore a t-shirt that was tied at the bottom, off to the side. Lots of times I wore two pairs of socks, layered. Big sunglasses with the mirror lenses were in too. Side pony tails and high, teased bangs was an everyday hairstyle for me. Wow, that was a horrible time in fashion. LOL!

i can't believe I thought I looked good in the 80's. The style looks so ridiculous now. big permed hair, lots of make up. mini skirts, pumps.genie pants omg how hideous and I owned a pair. Stirrups with long shirts. all kinds of bangle bracelets or colored rubber bracelets that looked like they covered half of your arms. And the worst of them all When girls wore stretch pants and wore their socks over them and a t-shirt. How stupid. I still see some women wearing their stretch pants like that with the feathered hair and I think "wow, she's stuck in the 80's" I'm sure glad we're outta them times.
