The Political section of YAHOO Answers helps me to fine tune some of the issues and storylines I am working on in a few political novels.

I am on this site because I believe it is a part of the new democratic process. It is not just this site but the new media, Internet, talk radio, cable news etc. For years, even in the USA the flow of information was concentrated in the hands of a very few, now everyone can have a voice. Even China, with all of its efforts to control the Internet, they will never be able to stuff the democracy genie back into the bottle. Especially when the subjects are light and silly or offensive, it is a part of the new democracy.

Mostly I come here for myself. I have learned a lot since I came here. I do tend to read several q&a's I spend more time reading other peoples thoughts than sharing my own.If I can help someone of course I want to. There are a lot of people on here though that are much smarter than I am.

Because ever now and then...just rarely someone asks a question with some thought behind it. Granted it isn't very often but when they come they are fun to answer. I worked in DC for several years and politics are a minor hobby now.

When a question pique my interest, I answer. I learn, I may even teach a little bit. It is also a good way to "eemprove my Eeenglish" (who said that and where?) vocabulary. I find other opinions interesting and I enjoy being able to say what is on my mind. (sometimes too much) Well, there you have it, until next time =).

i used to be on here all the time but now I can barely stand it because people want to joke around way too much. I like answering real questions but those seem few and far between these days.

Cindy Crawford got over 2,000 intelligent answers. Not one 2 points. and not one idk. So I do believe there is hope. This makes for some good conversation at family get togethers. I am amazed at peoples thought process. It has opened my eyes to all the people who are still out there having unprotected sex. Anyway it is quite the eye opener.

I am here mostly out of sheer boredom, but if I run across someone that actually has a serious question and they seem sincere...... then yes I care about those people and genuinely want to help them...

I'm a know it all.
I'm a jack of all subjects, master of none.
I need a life.
My 2 cents worth for 2 points.
All of the above? None of the above?
Its like you suggested. "Because I really care."

At first it was to genuinely answer questions, but I could never have the "Best Response" or be the first to answer so now it's only for the points baby, only for the points....lol
