Actually cornucopia comes from the latin words "cornu" meaning horn (like a cow's horn) and copia, which means plenty, hence it really means horn of plenty. A cornucopia is often a table decoration at thanksgiving. It is generally a wicker horn, with lots of fruits coming out.

The cornucopia on the table had grapes, oranges, apples, and some nuts in it.

Cornu can also mean an army, but that's another issue. If you see a statue of David, done by Michelangelo, it has horns on his head. Michelangelo goofed and used the wrong interpretation of cornu.
