wear plain beige pants - definitely not jeans - and black or brown shoes with a matching simple belt and a matching black or brown simple blazer.
wear a white shirt with a simple block colored tie under the blazer. the tie should be a dark navy blue or dark green - something easy on the eye and not complicated.
this is a classic 'clean' look that will impress without screaming "I am loud and have no taste at all" ...
also - go to a menswear store and ask someone to help you with extra questions or advice.
ask a woman if you can, in a department store, as they are generally more in tune with clothing and willing to help you out, and I mean an older woman...not some babe you like, who's wearing tattoos on her face and blue hair.
make sure your shoes are leather ones and absolutely not casual shoes, and make sure that they are polished. borrow some if you haven't got any or get them from a good thrift store - it's IMPORTANT!
if you want to look really good wear a clean white cotton handkerchief in your blazer pocket with it folded so a corner angle points up like a v from the pocket (look up up ask.com for dressing directions) and make sure you are clean shaven and showered.
if this sounds obvious don't be insulted...some people really don't know how to look good, or even know that they should be showered and clean before a job interview and that's just the way it is.
so - it's brown blazer, belt and shoes or black blazer belt and shoes o.k? don't mix and match - have them all the same color.
good luck
