As in, I would send in my 'cable' bill stub and a check (but the check was her's, but cashable to 'the cable company') would that run smoothly?

I think there is a little too much worrying by people on this site based on the answers.

Simply put, yes you can pay your bill with her check as long as your account number is on the check. The cable company doesn't care who sends the money as long as they get paid.

In terms of the other comments, when having financial dealings, yes it is always beneficial to make sure you and your freind have the same understanding of an agreement. This can be done best by having some kind of receipt which yourfreind signs saying she got the money from you in exchange for the check to the cable company. Most likely it's overkill, but if the check bounces and then the freind says she never got the money from you, it is in writing.

Hopefully she's a trusted friend. If you didn't get a receipt she could come back and say she paid your cable bill for you and you didn't pay her back. Is there a reason you don't have your own checking account? As long as the check is good the cable company doesn't care who pays it.

Have her sign a receipt saying you gave her that amount of money. Then have her give you the check that she made out to the company to be paid, so you can mail it yourself. Be sure to write your account number on the check.
Good Luck
Have a nice day!

no longer in user-friendly terms are you able to take him to small claims court docket, you may make an appointment with the community DA, recent the verify, and request that costs be filed by contrast individual. In some states this is considered an extremely severe offense. yet another difficulty you're able to do is take the verify directly to his financial company and recent it for charge. If there are no longer adequate money they're going to refuse to money it yet you isn't charged. the superb thing approximately this is which you would be able to wait till his pay day, or till the day his hire is due, and get the money till now he has a gamble to apply it or till now his verify to his landlord has a gamble to sparkling.

as long as your cable acct number is on your friends check and the check clears it shouldnt matter. those places dont care about who or where they get the money from as long as they get it and its credited to the proper acct
