They are equally valuable. Once married, that person is your family. Your loyalty should be with your immediate family which includes your spouse and children. They are the ones you spend your time with, they are the ones that will support you and be there when you need them and hopefully help take care of you when you're old. So many people put the focus on there brothers, sisters, aunts, and uncles...... when it should be on their spouse and children.

Marriage. If there is a Mom and a Dad in the house then the kids existence- physically and emotionally- will depend on the health of the marriage relationship. The kids watch to see how Mom and Dad do the marriage thing. They are effected by all aspects. The family was created by Mom and Dad. Mom and Dad need to keep their love alive and healthy for the sake of their offspring!

Family. It is the basic institution of society and it is within it that we develop affinities to our children and assist them in their growth and values development. These is where we exercise our responsibility as parents. Marriage is just an institution that is designed to facilitate the establishment of the family.

Now, it will be an entirely different question if you are made to choose between marrying someone you love or the family who objects to your marriage or to the one you are marrying.

without marriage the whole family falls apart. Their kids need both mom and dad.
