Well, water displacement can be used to determine volume of an irregular object, if that's what you're getting at.

You submerge the object in a measured tank of water filled to the rim. The volume of water that spills over (or is 'displaced') is equal to the volume of the object.

This sounds like physics (not math) to me. Water displacement is the volume of water that is "displaced" (moved) when an object is placed into a container of water.
