In the past fifty years, the American political system has corrupted our government to a point beyond redemption. No, our American government is NOT the best on the planet. First of all, the United States government has become bloated to a point of obscene excess, taking away our liberties and freedoms while grabbing more power and control that it is Constitutionally entitled to; the Bush administration has disregarded the Constitution perhaps more blatantly than any other administration in the history of the country.
We are very close to becoming a police state, wherein the Bush administration presumes citizens to be guilty until they are proven innocent; citizens are spied upon, lied to, intimidated and manipulated under the guise of being protected from 'terrorists', when - in fact - the Bush administration has arguably turned the U.S.A. into the world's newest 'evil empire', a nation that no longer is trusted as a world leader or global peacekeeper. It's no wonder other nations want their own nuclear weapons of mass destruction as a defense against the United States of America's bullying tactics, as it bulldozes its way into any other sovereign nation it pleases just to protect "America's interests".
The conservative-biased media has spewed toxic propaganda around the nation and throughout the world, creating a sinister cycle of hatred, bigotry and disdain against people of different religions, cultures, sexual persuasions, political ideologies, and economic backgrounds.
A terribly capitalistic country, United States business interests are spearheaded by people awash with hubris, arrogance, evil, corruption, avarice, and incompetence, led by an equally evil, corrupt, and cowardly administration and a vile, shameless, slothful, and self-interested U.S. Congress - perhaps the most useless body ever to occupy the Capitol Building.
If you want to find good government on this planet that truly is "of the people, for the people, and by the people", look to some of the Scandinavian countries, Switzerland, and other small nations where public service is a patriotic duty and not a get-rich-quick scheme for monstrous men and women looking out only for their own interests and the interests of their campaign contributors. -RKO-

Our American SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT is the best on the planet. Our government has excelled under both political parties at different times in our history and was probably the best in the world, most of the time. Right now, on a scale of one to ten, I'd give the current govenment under the neo-cons, a minus 2.

You see, Americans are so busy convincing themselves how great they are, that they never take the time to look at the rest of the world, so how can they know for sure if it's true or not.

It's like, How would you know if you're handsome, if you had your head up your butt all the time?
