I'm curiously inquisitive, but I don't see why people call me nosy out of meanness, but they DEMAND an answer for my personal business so they can negatively use it against me & throw it back in my face & belittle me.

Inquisitive is asking only to Learn something , you want to learn! But nosey is to know just to know often for malicious reasons

An inquisitive person knows how to ask the questions the nosy person just blurts out. An inquisitive person:
*has tact
*is intuitive and knows how to guage the other person's reaction to a question asked
*knows how to put the person at ease and is likely to reveal some information about his/ her self so the questionee feels more comfortable to share his/ her own information

It is good to be inquisitive because you ask questions so that you learn something new or you get to know more about something. To be nosy means to come into a conversation uninvited.Usually a nosy person asks questions not to learn anything for his good or good of others. His questions are usually mischevious.Maybe you should try to ask your questions in a way that you will not seem to be out for say gossip.

In my opinion the difference is that a nosy person asks questions when something is none of their business.

An inquisitive person was invited into the conversation in the first place and politely asks intelligent questions in order to better understand the conversation they are already a part of.

They are pretty much the same, but one has a positive connotation while the other has a negative one. I think that the main difference is that a curious person knows boundaries and will be interested in many subjects, while a nosy person just occupies themselves with other people's affairs.

Those people are just ignorant to what inquisitive really means. You're not nosy.
