I am not what you describe.
You do not know what some teenagers are brought up around. Maybe their parents aren't around like they should be and they are practically raised by influential people as stated above. You don't know what people go through to turn out the way they are.
Have a heart because right now you come of as some self-righteous, un-compassionate prick.

Mom always said the that sometimess the most direct route to a childs attention is through thieir butt. Nothing wrong in spanking a child doesn't mean Ya gotta beat them about the head and shoulders or with your fist or something else. It's amazing how much better behaved children when they know theres a price to pay. Just have to use some common sense not everything done deserves a spanking but sometimes it is the most direct route. So You use it.
Lets be honest.Wouldn't You just love to walk over and help that child thats kickiing and screaming at wal-mart and slapping at it's mother because she wont by the spoiled brat a toy for acting that way by picking the kid up turning it over Your knee and get some serious attention in that childs brain with a few firm swats across the backside. Then do the same for the parents hoping they will understand that letting that child act that way does more harm than good.
How can we expect teenagers (and by the way not all of them are even teens yet)to be responsable when the aren't taught to be.Nor is it all the parents fault I watched a father get cuffed and stuffed in front of his six yrold son for swatting him on the butt after he was repeatedly told to stop running and throwing things, this was a store not a playground.
Parents that claim to have done none of those things mentioned-LIARS.doesn't give kids the right to exploit or justify just means parents need to remember and judge as well as punish accordingly.

I'm not a teenager by any means but I will defend them in this instance. My younger sister is 17 and a senior in high school. She's not vulgar or promiscuous, she has had sex but only with her long time boyfriend and used condoms/birth control etc. She is one of the most giving people I know, giving alot of her spare time to help make bouqets for my wedding. She wants to be a florist when she graduates high school. The last word I would use to describe her is immoral. And I'm sure she has never used drugs or drank. She isn't a dork or a geek. Yes, she made one youthful mistake when she had sex with her boyfriend before marriage. But honestly, how many adults wait until marriage. I hate when people stereotype others. Don't assume everyone is like the people you may have had experience with.

Im a teenager myself (14) and i guess I could agree with you partly knowing some people at my school and television and everything, but I am not like that, I do my school work (4.0gpa) I havent had a boyfriend yet, never been kissed, still a virgin...( because im NOT stupid or promiscuous) I share when I can, I DO give my OWN money to charities, i've havent stolen anything, I could NEVER do drugs and ive never drank alcohal, I can admit that i do disagree with my parents in some occasions but I do respect them, i never curse to them, im grateful for what i have because i know things could be worse in my life...so dont include ALL teenagers in this category because you do not know ALL teenagers...just because things seemed so simple in your time doesnt mean its still that way now...i agree that some teenagers need to get taught manners and right from wrong...but not ALL....

I would say because of their up-bringing. "A tree is know by the fruit it bares" You have to take an active roll in your child's up-bringing. You have to be behind your children 100% of the time. You have to teach your child right from wrong. Instill morals and put the fear of God in them. You have to chastise your children. If you spare the rod you spoil the child. I am not saying literally beat your child with a rod, but learn to reprimand them when they get out of line. Think about it, if you curse don't you think your child will? If you drink, don't you think your child will? Have you taken the time out to tell your child about the woes of the world. Have you taken the time out to listen to your child and the complaints that they have going on in their little worlds. Children have problems too, they want someone to listen to them just like you want someone to listen to you? When was the last time you took the time out to go to your child's school to see how the interact with their peers and teachers? When was the last time you went and ate lunch with your child? When was the last time you set aside a day to spend with your child? This is why our children are like they are now. No one to guide or show them the right way? Take some time out with the youth. I have seen some of the things that they are writing and I still hold true to what I said. Everyone wasn't born with a "silver spoon". I was a teenager once and not very long ago. I wasn't promiscuous. I didn't have sex until I was old enough to vote, and that was a choice that I made. My mother raised me to respect myself and my body. There is nothing wrong with being a virgin. I don't care how many condoms you use and how many other types of contraceptives there are, you can still catch a sexually transmitted disease. AIDS is on the rise and kids don't care! You can't get rid of AIDS that is with you for life. I just don't undersatnd. I am not saying all teenagers are like this, Lord just help the ones that are!

I was born with a wood spoon in my mouth and it had splinters, you must of had a golden spoon. What I am saying, it is no different then the way the parents were brought up. The kids now days are just following there parents foot steps. I made sure that my kids never knew about my pass.

Well I would have to say it is the way they are brought up. Yes not all teenagers are like that, but now a days if you spank or discipline your kids than you can get arrested or have the state checking in 2 times a week to make sure your not hurting your kids. YOUR HURTING THEM BY NOT PUNISHING THEM! I was spanked Asa kid and I am just fine. I think kids now should be punished and I don't mean take away their PlayStation's, cellphones, and cars.

One of the most amusing descriptions of teenagers that I have read goes somthing like:
" they party and stay out late, they have no respect for their parents, they have no values and principles, etc. etc. " which is very much what you have written.
The quote was in a GREEK passage over 2000 years ago
I guess some things never change !

I am American By Birth and Southern by the grace of GOD! Somewhere in the mid Eighties parents quit teaching their kids, to lead by example, to respect their elders, to be polite, to treat each other with respect. we live in a Monkey see Monkey do type world and lately the monkeys have been slinging POO all over the place. so I really do not know the awnser to your question but if we are all tired of it then we all need to change it starting with our little ones
