It's just you.
The public, the people watching TV who might hang around for the commercials -- love, and I mean l-o-v-e violence.
When a viewer sees blood and gore and destruction and the smashed up Mercedes-Benz that mangled Princess Diana on television, it satisfies a deep and universal hunger, a feeling called MORBID CURIOUSITY.
News channels live, eat, breathe and survive on the blood lust. Happy talk, sugary, nice-guy news gets lousy ratings.
If you don't like the triteness and dullness of bloody news clips, do what I do -- get your news from the internet and from print sources. My television isn't even hooked up.

The media's job is a double edged sword. In order for them to keep ratings high, they must report sensational acts of human violence and grandio's mayhem. Unfortunately, that is whatthe public wants to see and hear.
The late P.T. Barnum stated that many times over the years,"Give the public what they want, regardless if it right or wrong." Sensationalism sells, the late great Peter Jennings reported live from hundreds of hot zones across the globe and the public loved him.
The cracodile hunter, faced several types of danger within all of his shows, the public loved him.
The news can be very slanted and graphic, I agree with you.
On a positive note, they are starting to tone down some of their really graphic news shows. Hope this answered your quandry.....

Yea...I agree that the news channels are constantly showing us things just to arouse our senses, getting us to imagine all kind of things. Yet...In US, we have a lot of news shows talking about politics...but positive things...I guess we don't appreciate postive things that are showing in the news anymore.

And you will always rarely hear anything positive on the news because most people don't want to see that...
'violence sells'... just like 'sex sells'... and it always will

Coz they dont have anything else to show.I mean if they show all this stupid stuff their ratings actually go high. They simply cant stop reporting murder or the latest guy who raised his voice to protest against some issue.
