I work with an office size of 7, including my boss. All women too! Oy! Anyhow, how I stay out of office politics is I choose not to get myself involved in others personal lives or business lives, and I keep my personal life to myself. I stay to myself most times, and do not chit chat amdist them. Sometimes we will chat a little about thier kids, and little mundane crap that is harmless; but otherwise, I am there to do the job I was hired to do; and I go home at the end of the day while leaving my job at work.

As long as there are people, this sort of things cannot be prevented. No matter how you handled things in an organisation regardless of the size, ther are people who will not be happy with the decision coz it may not favour them. So such things is inevitable. I can't really advice you how to handle things but I suggest that it is good to be neutral and not show favour to any side within the office. When it come to any decison making, try to be as fair as possible but sometimes it is not possible but you can always find a best solution to it.

I've made it a practice at the beginning to tell people I'm not there to be anyone's friend, nor am I there to be liked. I'm there to get a job done, period. Works like a charm. Let the rest of them politic all they want. Keep out of it and do your job. You'll be there after they're all gone.
