i believe it is age seven where i am from. But every state has it's own laws i believe.

this could be very hard for the child. I would listen to how they felt. As of 12 I would consider there feelings. No younger. kids are not able to make such a drastic call. They will say one parent for one reason and want to go home to the other for another reason. share and don't choose. let the child feel loved.

It really depends on the child. If the child is mature for there age then I'd say 8 or 9. But at that age it still might be hard.

Children should never have to have to decide such a pailful thing.
God gave us children to care for and protect them, to give all the security and sense of safety.

It is ashamed how many couples divorce for whatever reason, they never think about their kids, only about themselves.
Most children from broken homes suffer in silence.
Should they have to suffer?

18 until then it's not about who they want to live with it's about who can support them in the right environment. Letting children make too many decisions for themselves is why so many kids are defiant and uncontrollable now.

it is acording to what state you live in but most all states reconize the child words as to whom that want to live with, by the age 14
