we have no information on her heritage. we live in New york. she didnt know anything about her family. Thanks in advance for any advice

I live in New York as well. The thing about unsealing stuff like that is very tough, a lot of people can never ever get into a document like that. I've only heard of one person able to do that and that was because he worked for the FBI for a long time. If I could get a hold of him and stuff, and know a way to contact you, I just might be lucky enough to ask him to pull a few strings and get the information. I don't know though, it's been awhile. And since I don't know you personally.... know what I mean?

Talk to an attorney in the state she was adopted. Also, check out the sites that help people find their adoptive parents or children. They might have some advice for you.
