Hey everyone. I really need some make up advice. I don't wear make up on a daily basis, so I really have no idea what colors look best on me, what colors should I put where, etc.

My skin is medium light, I have dark brown eyes and very dark brown hair. Can you tell me what colors would look best on me (lip color, eye shadow, blush, eye liner, etc.).

Please, no stupid answers. Thats just a waste of time.

Thanks again!

best to stay neutral...light brown eyeshadow swept from lashline to crease, with a darker brown added to the crease and blended outward for a more dramtic effect. brown or blak eyeliner on the bottom with some brown or black mascara (top lashes only). pinks are okay, but they sort-of make your eyes look puffy/sleepy.

Yeah, there is usually a color guide for everyone but I wouldn't limit myself to a certain color palette. Visit the department store cosmetics section where they let you experiment with several different colors. Sometimes the sales representatives will do a free make-over if you're a serious buyer. I have medium skin and dark hair and dark eyes too, but I experiment with all of the colors. Try dusting a little bit of dark metallic blue eyeshadow along your lash-line and some metallic bronze/brown shadow on your brow bone. Highlight the area just below your eyebrow with a light neutral creme/peachy eyeshadow. Don't forget to blend the shadows so you don't overdo it. Apply black/brown mascara. Presto! You have a glitzy night time look! P.S. Try some icy/metallic coffee-colored lip gloss. Keep the lips simple if you do dramatic eyes otherwise you'll look like you have too much make-up on.

I know that everyone's opinion can be overwhelming - but I think that it might be better if you enter in your personal information on a site (like Covergirl) and be color matched. That way you can have an idea what to buy and you can try the exact colors that are recommended (at an affordable price since Covergirl is pretty reasonable)

I could tell you the colors that I use since we are the same coloring but I'm not sure if you have yellow undertones or blue or red undertones. Go ahead and try the website, I really think that it will give you the best idea of what color will look fantastic on you. Go ahead and buy it at Walgreens or Walmart - and if you don't like it - you can return it for a refund (check their return policy first)

Also, on the Covergirl site, they even give you tips on how to apply it.

Good luck! I've included the link below.

Ok, well, first of all, people with brown eyes can wear litterally any color of eyeshadow and look good! You're very fortunate! I think that personally, with you skin color and all, that you should wear golds, browns, creams, whites, pinks, blues, and possibly purples! These are what I have found to look best with people who have brown eyes! I'm also sending you a link fora virtual makeover and a link for general make-up help! Hope that this can help you!

Go for a light, liquid base (you don't say what skin type you have, dry, oily, etc.) and keep it light. You should make your eyes stand out with blues/greens which draw attention to them. Keep the base covered with translucent powder so it doesn't vanish during heat or cold or time its on. The powder will "set" the base, keeping it from changing color. It sounds like you would look good with a coral blush (on the cheek bones to make them look high) and a matching coral lipstick, outlined, if you choose, with a deeper coral lip pencil.

Wow thats easy, cause those are all my EXACT colors.
For eyeshadow, shimmery light purple looks really good, and shimmery green. Mac and hard candy are the 2 best brands ive found for colors. Black eyeliner/mascara, or dark blue liner looks good too. a nude lip liner, and bubblegum colored lipgloss(benefit the gloss in kiss me is REALLY nice, but its kinda expensive, so any work) and i use bareminerals. you should get the starter kit in medium, it has everything and it lasts SOO long. bronze look nice for cheeks. hope it helps!

since your hair is dark, you can use a dark brown eyeliner. go for a nude lipstick and cover it with a nude or slightly pink lip gloss (juicy tubes by lancome rock). eye shadow DOES depend on what you wear. i wear a lot of warm colors (brown, gold, etc.) so when i do i wear warm colored eye shadow. if you wear cool colors (pink, blue, green) go with a similar cool color. blush depends on your shade of skin and undertone (yellow/orange or pink/bague). try a Mac brand blush in a lighter brown.

Lips: reds tend to look good on that type of face all so try diffrent shades of pink and tanish colors. try some colors that are clse to your natural lip color as well!

eyes: try purpel, white, pink, tan all most any color and some times you might be abbel to pull of greens! w/ mascara dont do black! try a dark brown or a brown black. the same w/ eye linner and some time you dont even need eye linner!

blush: nothing to bog and bright! just somthing close to your skin tone! just a light brushing should to the trick!\

hope this helped! a key tip is the you dont want peopel to when they first seen you to think to them self "ohh, she has makeup on!" you want them to the fab you! all so go online and go to

for lip color its best 2 use a gloss. like pink or brown. pick out nice shades of eyeshadows like different shades of brown or pink, purple, sky blue. blush maybe pink. black or dark brown eyeliner will do wonders and also get a mascara.
