I love phrases using the word "lot" like, "the whole lot of them went to the dance" or words like loo. Using the word loo to say you are going to the bathroom is so much better than the actually word bathroom.

I'm with you.

I actually use "lot" in the form which you mentioned.

I like using the England-English words for things and freaking people out too.

For example, "Get that f@g out of here!"

"F@g" is England-English for cigarette.

I enjoy using those words as well. "Whilst" is one of my absolute favorites...it's the English version of "while." I believe we Americans don't use their words because of their roots.

There was a little event back a few hundred years ago. You may have heard of it...the Revolutionary War. That was when the United States became the United States. I think America wanted to break all ties with Britain/England/Europe in general. This, in my opinion, also included their language which ultimately has affected our speech in modern times.

We have our own fun words. You can say "potty" instead of "bathroom". Doesn't that sound fun?
