Vit B 12 needs to be injected deep IM or in the muscle. Usually in the glutes. You can also use the thigh. It sounds horrible, but it is not really that bad. The upper arms. the deltoids aren't a big enough muscle to hold the medication and would cause it to be very painful. One hint to decrease the pain, use one needle to draw up the medication and a second to inject. When you go through the rubber stopper, it can dull the needle. Also make sure you let the medication warm to room temperature. If it's cold it can cause muscle spams.
