how many days can i go without an oil change. I have a 2003 pontiac and the light came on about 5 min ago and I cant change it for two weeks will I be ok?????

yes you can wait you can run them couple hundred miles over just dont wait real long and you will be fine

You won't have any problems leaving the oil change for that long even if you are doing quite a big mileage.
The light comes on long before you really need to change the oil anyway, but having said that, clean oil keeps an engine in better condition for longer so make sure you don't forget to do it at some stage soon.

Did you check your oil? It may mean that you need to add oil as well. If your oil is full and it is a "dummy light", you should be fine for a couple of weeks. Just don't run it so much or more of the old oil will run into your engine and slowly eat it. Not good.

To answer this correctly, do you have too busy a schedule which involves a lot of driving (not good), or just using shoe leather (not so bad). It just isn't a question of days, it's more a question of miles (unless you don't drive much). A couple hundred miles over the interval isn't going to destroy the car. It isn't going to help it much either. Check the oil level, make sure there is enough, but not too much in the car.

You'll be fine those two weeks, the engine won't lock up or anything..... just be sure its the oil change light...... not the oil level.... just check it and make sure its to the full just in case.

u will be fine it is what is called what most mech's call an idiot light, letting u know u have gone over 3,000 miles since u have last changed it or ur low on oil but i wont want long change it asap

should be fine you may want to check and see if your oil isnt low so your engine doesnt lock up my friends car his light comes on when its time for a change and when its low

Check the oil level (ENGINE COLD) add if needed and don't worry unless you plan on going across the country

it will be OK the light is just telling you it has reached the mileage to where it should be changed,,it don't mean its going to hurt it to go farther than that,,it s just reminding you to change it..you,ll be OK for a while,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.
