If you want to dream something, think about it right before you go to bed and tell yourself you are going to remember it.

Our dreams are a kind of brain processing of ideas, thoughts, feelings that we have. Also a fantasizing aspect to issues that are on our minds. I have found that I tend to dream about the last things that have occupied my mind before and while falling asleep, especially if they strongly impress me, or tire me. If I work late and am stressed and concerned about that work, I might dream about it. I have dreamt about video games that I played just before going to sleep!
I have heard, also, about great inventors and geniuses who work on a project and while processing through ideas and plans they tend to take cat naps. So I let myself do that also. When I am working on a complex project I work on it till I'm tired, or have finished that phase of research or composition,, and go to sleep,, and then sometimes in the middle of the night I wake up with an idea that is a sythesis, or next level from the earlier stage.
I don't think it's good to think about something all night long. But there is something to the expression 'sleep on it'. Let our brains just naturally do their thing while we sleep. Some people play tapes while they go to sleep, like foreign language tapes, or study tapes, affirmation tapes.
This does not include psychic dreams about the future. I don't know about that.

actually the best way to control dreams is through lucid dreaming itself. in order to induce a lucid dream you must already be dreaming and during the dream realize your dreaming and therefor wake your mind up in the dream and yet keep your body sleeping. once your awareness is inside the dream then you can make anything happen during your dream time.
otherwise a dream is your brain translating experiences your awareness has when it is in a deep state marked by delta wave patterns. these symbols are opened and experienced as dreams during the REM state of sleep (Rapid Eye Movement) so in order to control this translation you would have to know what symbols are what then go into the deep delta state and create experiences that call for the symbols that you want. and this is as far as i know quite impossible. your better off with lucid dreaming, go ahead and read up on it online.

First is leaning how to let go of all the worries of the day and not to start worrying about tomorrow. just the now. Either write down what you want to dream about so it is the first thing in your mind. Then lay down and start falling asleep but keeping the thought you want in the front. Just start breathing in a relaxed manner as you gently drift off to sleep. This should bring on what is being called lucid dreaming.it will probaliy take several tries before you catch on to the habit and train your mind. DON"T get scared when you are successful as your soul will return to your body automatically just as it does in regular sleep.

You dream about the very last thought that crosses your mind before you fall completly asleep. Try taping your dream in details and listen to a loop on headphones when you fall asleep but Keep it playing in a loop for over 4 to 5 hours.

Well, "lucid dreaming" is different and far more difficult than giving yourself a suggestion to dream of a certain thing or situation. Seeing as it is the latter you are actually requesting and not currently asking about "controling" your dreams in real-time(lucid dreaming), I shall tell you the technique I use with great and persistant success.
Simply, think ONCE and once ONLY of what you are wishing to dream about. Do this whilst laying in bed, about to resign yourseft to sleep. The important part of this technique is to think of what you wish to dream of ONLY ONCE. This is difficult, due to the perverse nature of our minds, ie: to ask ourselves to not think of something, immediately makes us think of it!
It can be done though, and is much easier than "lucid dreaming".
This, for me, works every time without fail. I wish you the very best of luck in your attempts, whatever method you decide to use, as this method of problem solving can be very rewarding.

I am not a dream expert but I love to dream. Last night I was on an adventure in Alaska. I have had some favorites from the past but have tried to recreate them to no luck. The next one is always welcome. I have no idea where I will live next in my dreams.

You can't force a dream as it is usually a subconcious resolution to what is going on. So, it is better to journal your wishes and then go on. When it's the right time for you to have an answer, it will come. Otherwise, your apt to miss the deeper meaning of what you really need to know from the dream as it will be what you "want" the dream to be and not the reality of it.

Pre dream. Think the dream every night before you fall asleep as you lie in bed. It may take a while but eventually you will dream it.
Your brain will solve your problems (if you let it) without you forcing a dream.

THIS works for me.... I learned how to do it a long time ago.. and it works every time.. but..remember EVERYTHING is in your head!!... RIGHT....Before you go to sleep....turn everything off..sit on your bed relaxed...with your eyes closed..and take deep breaths thinking about whatever you want to dream about.. If it is a person ...a picture will help....if you don't have a picture a name will do.. Breath and say...." Tonight I will dream this (whatever you want)... and think about it for a little while while breathing. Then just lay down and don't stress about it!! If you can believe it....you CAN do it.....IT IS ALL IN YOUR HEAD...YOU..have the power .!! Good Luck!!
