The stingray swam away unharmed, minus one barb. It'll grow back, and the ray is probably happy as ever. And let's keep in mind that Steve was a conservationist and seeking any kind of revenge against the ray would have angered him very much.

It probably just swam away. It was only doing what came naturally, and it's hard to punish/kill stingrays in the first place.
