as diverse as they are can be made of the same building blocks...Oxygen having 8 protons is 84 protons away from being Uranium ( plus some neutrons & electrons)

There are around a hundred different chemical elements, each with a few isotopes (varying numbers of neutrons). But, when you combine atoms into molecules, the number of possible combinations is immense. The properties of the molecule are determined not just by the component atoms, but also by details of the molecular bonds.

How about not only the same building blocks, but the exact same number of building blocks in the exact same configuration?

Water !
0 degreesC=solid
1-99 degreesC=liquid
100 degreesC=gas

With this in mind, it's not too far a leap to see the almost infinite possibilities that these building blocks can conjure up when they occur in different numbers and different configurations.

Maybe the ol' alchemists were on to something when they tried to convert lead into gold, ya think?

um... the basics?

everything has its own physical properties at lets say 100*F

now...

Liquids are things that are well a liquid at room temperature

If you wanted to go with oxygen it is easier

At room temperature oxygen is a gas...

When compressed oxygen turns to a liquid. When you put pressure on a gas such as oxygen it raises the boiling point of the atoms causing them to compress so much to be come a liquid...

I'm not sure about your question so ok...
