Good question. For accuracy I think they should. After all, football, hockey, and basketball uses instant replay. It has helped the game. Since baseball has added the DH and inter-league play with no problems, it might as well add instant relay to its body of work.

Yes..what makes the umpires in baseball so immune from criticism.
Let's make certain the right team wins especially when the t.v. monitors/cameras have instant replay. If the public can watch the replay and judge for themselves and if the manager of a team wants a replay, who are the umpires to say no to having a call challenged.
To answer the question...Yes.

I think that since the players are still human, those making the calls should do it in real time also. Baseball rules are not as complex as those in the NFL, nor do they change from year-to-year. The MLB umpires do blow a call once in a while, but they do an excellent job even when the fans see the slow-motion replays on TV.

No, absolutely not. Baseball is a unique sport. It has no clock. Baseball should not copy cat the other sports.
All baseball fans get teed off by the umpires, for sure, from time to time. But it all evens out.
Baseball is timeless and should stay that way.
I love instant replay in football. But even that doesn't make it perfect, look at last years Super Bowl, those refs actually thoughr Roehtlisberger scored a touchdown on that one play?
Keep it the same baseball!

No. Most umpires are so arrogant that even if they saw the replay they still wouldn't admit they're wrong so I say it would just slow the game down.

Yes. There have been many close plays in the past that have determined the outcome of a team's season. I think only the box should be able to challenge though...that way managers can still go crazy about a call. As for balls and strikes, baseball is already headed in the direction of an automated strike zone (you know they're thinking it) and ESPN K-Zone is pretty accurate. There are also teams who always seem to get the calls (ummmmm...yankees) and they get an unfair advantage because of it.

Yes, absolutely!!!
I can't even begin to imagine how many times a play that was called wrong and not fixed...
So many times the other teams have won by wrong calls. I strongly believe they should have replays in baseball.

No if you set up baseball like football the games would take foever, let the umps judge a call against your team today is a call for your team tomorrow.

Umpires call stands, that's the great thing about baseball, arguing whether or not the ump was right!
