Print flyers on your computer and hand them out personally. Go around the neighborhood ( ask your mom or another adult to accompany you for safety )and knock on doors so the person you hand the flyer to can meet you. Try to give yourselves an edge over the competition by adding what skills you posess. For example if you have taken a class in CPR or first aid, parents will be happy to know you can handle an emergency situation. Or if you know how to play an instrument, you can offer beginner music lessons. Are you crafty and can entertain the children with an assortment of art projects? Think of all your skills and talents and list them on the flyer. Use a bright color paper so it will stand out if it ends up on someone's fridge with all the other notes. Cover for each other so one of you will be available at all times and sometimes on short notice. Also if you get out of school before the younger kids, you could offer escorts home if parents are worried about their kids walking alone. Make up a kit that you can carry with you to all assignments with craft supplies, storybooks, kiddie music and movies. Just be very professional in your responsibilities and word of mouth will take care of getting you future jobs.

Get your first aid and CPR Card Take any baby sitting classes that they offer at an adult school. People will take you serious if you educate yourself it will mean that it is important for you. Have the people that you baby sit for tell their friends and if anyone that they reccomend you to uses your service give them a free hour of babysitting. Word of mouth is your best bet people don't always feel comfortable calling on adds like that unless it is put out by an agency.

putting signs up help, but people don't always take the time to stop and read. I would just mention the fact that you and your friend are babysitting to people in the neighborhood or just around places in your community. If you happen to bump into a parent u know in a grocery store, just tell them that you've started up a business with your friend. Parents spread the word too, so ask your mom or dad/whoever you live with to tell their friends and spread the word. After it gets out, people will be hiring you in no time! good luck

Above some good ideas.
Go here; http://www.vistaprint.com/vp/ns/default.aspx?GP=9%2F5%2F2006+10%3A27%3A19+PM
On the Left side look for Business Cards etc. Below it see FREE Business Cards. Click!!! NOW listen to me. You may only get one shot at this FREE thing. So, THINK what you want to put on your Cards. I think you have to pay Shipping so ASK the Parents!!!!!!
IF, you learn the CPR and First Aid stuff, you could put that on your cards as well. Make sure you put some on a few good Bulletin Boards.

A lot of local/community papers have babysitter listings. You should research neighborhood papers in your area and ask to be added to these lists. Many parents will trust their own neighborhood newsletter more so than a general newspaper. Furthermore, not as many people are reading newspapers in print anymore as they are on the web, so check out local online pubs as well.

an easy and fun idea is to make Pb&J or turkey if the kids have allergies and have the kids use large cookie cutters to cut there sandwiches into fun edible shapes. My kids eat this one up! Another idea is to go to the store, purchase a pillsbury dough, spaghettie sauce and grated cheese, have the kids roll the dough into flat round "mini" pizza doughs and proceed from there...the kids really will eat anything that they can create themselves. To get them to eat some veggies try baby carrots with dressing, or celery with PB and raisins on top (ant on a stick). Hope this helps!

Add in the newspaper would help or an ad on your car, or if you're too young to drive then on your mom's car. Make business cards to hand out too. Good luck!
