we did not exchange info and did not call police. When I took my car in about 2 months later, my tie rod was bent. Now I have noticed paint flaking off the front. Is it too late to turn it in to my insurance? For the tie rod and the paint job? No idea who the lady was at this point.

ok , some of you have said the tie rod couldnt have been damaged this way, but she had a big suv (not sure what, but big and sat up high) and I have a dodge stratus. She actually rode up onto my car. does that change your opinion.

I would recommend fixing the tie rod at your own expense and keeping an eye on the paint. Turning in a late claim is not a good idea.

Unless the other vehicle hit your front tire, it's highly doubtful that the impact bent the tie rod.

You can file a claim for the paint damage, but I'll bet your deductable will cover all or most of the repair.

edit...re your additional details>>> Sorry, I still don't believe the SUV caused the bent tie rod. There are too many ~soft parts~ on your stratus that would fail before the tie rod did. If the only other damage is paint, you'd have a tough time proving the tie rod was damaged by the SUV.

However... If YOU had the SUV and she backed HER STRATUS >under< your truck, I'd believe a tie rod could get damaged.

Forget about your tie rod. There is NO way that happend when she backed into you. Front bumper damage should be covered if it appears collision damaged the paint although there will be a collision ded. applied.

you can claim it on your insurance as far as her paying your sol on that, but you can report a claim anytime, i did that some ahole keyed my jeep and i filed a claim then ran outa money so dissmissed it then two months later re-filed and they payed thier half.
