find the area of a parellogram: b,50cm:h, 20cm.

because the paralelogram has two sets of parallel sides, the formula for it is very similar to a rectangle! so
area=50cm*20cm=1000cm2=0.1m2

A = base x height
A = 50 x 20
A = 1000 cm^2

the answer is 1000 square cemtimeters ;
because 50cm times 20cm equals 1000 square cm

easy, It's equivalent to counting a rectangle.
(Height x Width)
(20 x 50)cm sq.
=1000 cm sq.

Imagine you clip off the triangle on one end of the parallelogram and fit it to the triangle on the other end so that the result is a rectangle.

b will still be 50 cm and h will still be 20 cm

The area of the rectangle is b x h
