Quotient. The person above me is wrong on the other things... I'm in Algebra II.
FYI...
mean = average
median = middle number
mode = most common number
range = difference between the highest number and the lowest number
12, 5, 7, 90, 5, 2, 56, 34, 8
You place the numbers in order from lowest to highest.
2, 5, 5, 7, 8, 12, 34, 56, 90
mean - Add all the numbers up and divide by the number of numbers you are adding.
2+5+5+7+8+12+34+56+90 / 9 = 24 1/3
median - Knock all the numbers out from the outside in 1 at a time.
2, 5, 5, 7, 8, 12, 34, 56, 90
***5, 5, 7, 8, 12, 34, 56 ***
******5, 7, 8, 12, 34 *******
*********7, 8, 12 ***********
************8****************
8 is my median... If there was another number left like if I had 8 and 17 left, you'd calculate the average of 8 and 17 which is 12.5...
mode - pick out the most common number that repeats the most.
2, 5, 5, 7, 8, 12, 34, 56, 90
It's obviously 5...
range = smallest number subtracted by large number.
range = 90 - 2
range = 92
I always have long answers.
