My dad died when I was 4. I have no idea what kind of man he was.

These kids suffered a tragedy, that is for sure...but do you think that they are lucky that they will be able to view all of their dad's shows and interviews when they are older? Won't this help them know him better, if only to a small extent?

I'm sorry for your loss of your father at such a young age. But yes, that's a good thought, i bet all the video footage of Steve Irwan would defintely bring happiness to his kids down the road. What better way to remember their father than having hours of video doing what he loved in life and being so happy all the time while doing it.

I think so.

There is nothing we can do about the tragedy now, but there is verifyable proof of how popular their dad was. It's not real, but it's certainly better than nothing.

Can I say something really stupid and maybe even cheap here? Was there ever a picture of him taken in anything besides khaki shorts and shirt? I hope that somewhere in the private pictures the kids will be able to see there dad in nicer clothes, different clothes, or anything but just a work uniform.

I'm sure he had a life besides just the one we saw on TV. Hopefully the kids will be able to have lots of pictures of that too.

i'm guessing that Yahoo Nickname does not study or hear to the information through fact it has got here out that he pull the stingray barb out in the previous he died. His digital camera guy/stable chum is asserting that and it fairly is on the tape it is now with the police. in keeping with risk you may desire to study the information and stuff in the previous you start up attacking somebody for in simple terms asking a query. I did hear that the tape would be released if the relatives needs it to be. yet you realize human beings at present....i'm particular somebody will arise with it and out it some the place on the internet like YouTube.

Not lucky. However they will be able to see what kind of father he was through their mother's stories, also there is so much footage of him through his documentaries, his love of animals. So sad to see children loose a parent, and especially at a young age. His wife must be beside herself. The zoo legacy will live on, I could not see the zoo closing.

I think it will help them deal with their loss, and have memories of their dad. They will also learn that their dad died doing what he loved to do, and that he was very loved and respected. I'm sorry about your loss, I grew up without a dad and he died a few years ago..(I heard).. so I don't know what it feels to loose a dad.

I think we all are lucky (especially his kids) as we can relive some of his adventures though hi shows.
I think he went too far too many times and it was inevitable(the odds would have huge that a croc would have gotten him sooner or later) he would die from one of his jaunts.
The guy really was a nice family man but too careless for this person.
