Stephen Hawking is a physicist and philosopher who is confined to a wheelchair because he has ALS. He is the 17th Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge University. This is the same position held by Isaac Newton (Newton was the 2nd Lucasian Professor).

I think you mean Morrie Shults, but he had ALS. The book Tuesdays with Morrie is basid on his struggle with ALS and how his old student (Mitch Albom) and it is a really good book, you should read it.
