write about a person, or an animal, that has done something extraordinary - you sometimes hear of a man lifting a car off a friend's body - something he wouldn't be able to do, ordinarily - or you hear of a dog or cat waking up his people in a burning house - that sort of thing.

One good example would be from the World Trade Center tradgedy. Mayor Guillianni showed a great deal of courage in that difficult situation, or you could ask any of the firefighters or police officers that were there. Just a suggestion. Good luck.

Well I won't write your paper for you, but many dogs show courage and in the face of danger. One example is German Shepherds in World War II who were known to pull their owners of the line of fire to safety and even take bullets for their owners and continue to pull them out of harm's way.
