To me, it sounds like you're happy at Blockbuster. While Sam's sounds like a good idea, you can't guarantee you'll like it there. Sometimes it's better to stick with what you're happy with for a little bit, even if you do take a pay cut. To me, Blockbuster also seems like a more enjoyable job.

This sounds like a decision... But, as you state pretty clearly "the only reason I want the job is basically for the money!". You've just answered your own question.
A little mindless work (some heavy lifting) never killed anyone.
Perhaps you might want to study a trade or profession. The 8.50 or 9.00 per hour will look like chump change if you have some specific skill you can sell. Better yet, think up something that's unique that no one else sells (service or product) and sell it to other people.
You sound like a young person either in high school or college who's looking to make a few bucks. You know, school teaches people to go out and work for other people. Have you given any thought to pursuing the reverse? Like, people would work for you? That's another avenue to think about. In fact, it usually takes a professional about five to ten years to reach a level of expertise in their field to command excellent wages. It would probably take about the same amount of time to build a business.
I hope this gives you some things to think about.
Take the Sams Club job for now. You know you want it.

Well let’s do the numbers, if you work at blockbuster 40 hours a week at $6.75 you would make $270 a week or $14,040 a year.
Sam’s $8.50 an hour, $340 a week or $17680 a year.
If you rented 5 movies a week at $4 each, that would be $20, or $1040 a year in movies.
Take Sam’s $17680-$1040= and that comes to $16640.
So if you work at Sam’s you can get your 5 movies a week and still make $1040 extra each year.

Blockbuster will be more fun. But you have to work late and holidays.
Sams (Wal Mart corp) sucks to work for but you would get a free membership to the club and make more money.
If that $2+ / hour ($80/month = $960 + /year) difference does not mean much to you - work at Blockbuster and enjoy going to work each day. More people will get to know you there and you will make neat relationships....

My money would be with Sams. What could 5 free rentals do for you? Besides more people come through Sams and there could be better opportunities through people you meet. You never know. Hope it all works out for you.

Go with Sam's Club. The employee discount will be much more valuable there. Go with the nice paycheck- your wallet will thank you.
