I had almost a ten pound baby with no stitches, How long does it take the hemhorroids to go away,.. I have not tried preparation H, does that make them go away or manage it.
Is there anything else I should try?
Please tell me that they go away...

Preparation H is a way to assist with the discomfort. I don't know anything that will totally make the hemorrhoids go away, but some other ways to help them is to soak in a warm "Sitz" bath (Epsom salt in the warm water - the box will tell you the amount to use). It helped a lot with me. From my understanding, they never really "go away". They will shrink in size, and will stop bothering you, but they don't disappear completely.
My doctor told me that if they continued to bother me, he would have them removed surgically. Speak to your doctor, but in the mean time, try the Prep. H, sitz baths, and use "witch hazel" pads on them. All will aid in the itching and discomfort, and will reduce the swelling. Your doctor can help you further if you need it.
Good luck!

get a donut pillow and then alternate between a heating pad during the day and then at night take an old sock with a couple icecubes in a plastic bag and put it in your underwear..sleep on your side. If that does not help, go to the doctor and chances are you have blood clots that are accumulating and your doctor will numb the area (local) and open the swelling area to get the clots out. TRUST ME!!!! you will feel so much better. Then your doctor will ask if you are going to have any more children, if not, ask about the surgery to have them permanently removed.

I was lucky because mine went away after about 6-7 weeks. I didnt use Tucks or Preperation H. I would sit in warm baths once a day, use Witch Hazel a few times a day and at night I slept with a cold pack.. NOT ICE..that I got from Walgreens (Its gel and doesnt freeze completely. More like a slush). They cleared up!

Hemorrhoids are part of a pregnant woman's life. You should have already been using Preparation H. Preparation H won't necessary "heal" the problem but will definitely make them feel better, help shrink them and stop the pain and itching. By all means tell your doctor when you go back for a check up or, if they are bad enough, see him especially for that problem. Pops

I had a 9 pound baby and got hemroids too. They gave me this little tub and told me to take Siths Baths I think its called. Its like running some warm water on it to cool the swelling. For me I put an ice pack in my undies when I went to sleep to numb the pain. It worked for me. They were gone within a month.

Your doc should be able to give you prescription stuff that will work better than preperation h, in the mean time try soaking a cotton ball in witch hazel and applying it for like 30 seconds to the area or putting it in your bath. It relieves and reduces swelling.

My friend had them really bad, and her doctor advised to soak in warm water. That worked for her. I had a baby, but didn't encounter that problem.

Use Preparation -H wipes. Even after only urinating. if this doesn't help buy Preparation-H gel and apply externally, if this don't work use it internally.
