just wondering i know there is no matter in space but what if you placed it on the moon?or just left it in space and exploded it? would it still make radiation.

Absolutely since the explosion does not require oxygen or anything else to go off. It is the result of splitting an atom. It will go off anywhere at all. And the radiation which is a mixture of alpha (soft), beta (medium energy) and gamma (hard energy) would all go zipping away at the speed of light just like it does on earth, same energy, speed and damage.

Yes it would, the bomb would still explode and yes the radiation would still be there but I am not sure the the radiation would spread. I think it would just float.

Yep, It would probably still explode. And definitely make radiation, but no more than the sun can out there. I would just wonder what an explosion of that sort would look like. Fire cannot exist in space so...

An atom bomb has everything it needs inside it to explode, so yes it would explode in space.

Yes. Americans (and possibly the Soviets?) use to detonate them in space. But the radiation interfered with the space program, so President Kennedy banned atomic tests in low orbit.

Yes. As a matter of fact they did several tests over Johnston Island in the Pacific Ocean. It was called Operation Dominic. The bombs were mounted on Thor missile and launched, when the missile reached outer space they were detonated.

I'd say that i'd would explode even more because it would take the place of matter, not like on earth where there's a pressure applied by air.

yes.. that make a full power of pulling all planet... and destroy all of it... in the first explod it cant expload.. then it will go back so that make pulling wave... and other planet have the gas that have pull make the explod the 2nd time... and its a big one...
