How do you feel about being completely alone? Does anyone else not have family or husband or girlfriends or wife, etc. Or sisters or brothers? How does it effect you?? It seems like daily life is geared to couples all the time. Including churches who don't really do much for the single peeps.

I am VERY HAPPY I do NOT have a significant other -- the one I had (and divorced about a decade and half ago) was an Abuser and Violent -- he stole from me and kept stealing, abusing, stalking, and robbed my residence many times over these many years.

As far as Siblings -- I am GRATEFUL for my siblings -- they are who I can trust and I KNOW they CARE about me tremendously. They are the ones who are there for me, checking on me, and even have helped me out when they take the time (and they do Not have to do this) and come down to my home and help me with some heavy work around my home and yard -- work I know I can't finish by myself (like -- I needed one other person who I could trust to run the Chain Saw when I would work the guide lines to drop a tree dangerously close to my home).

Yes, I have experienced the PREJUDICE and outright HOSTILITY towards Singles (and I was also a Long-Time Single Parent) -- and I did NOT let it bother me -- they NEVER walked in the shoes I walk in, nor did they know what it meant to struggle and work hard and KNOW that the only income to support my children was MY OWN because my ex was also a DEADBEAT DAD.

So I am now over half-century old, FINALLY an Empty Nester -- and I am going to ENJOY being a boring empty-nester -- I LIKE living ALONE, in my own home, fixing What I WANT to eat, watching the TV channel I WANT to watch, not staring down 4-6 loads of laundry a night (or the 3+ loads of dishwasher too), etc etc etc.

I live alone... I've been separated from my wife and family for 2½ yrs now with no end in sight... I only get to see our 3 daughters on Sunday mornings at church and then over at my apartment for a few hours... Then, there are the other 6 days that crawl by... Thank God for Mondays...! Bet you'll never hear THAT again...
How does it affect me...? How do I feel about being completely alone...? Well, I've got God who hangs out here with me and all, so I'm not REALLY alone... But I miss being a father to our girls on a daily basis... I miss the hugs and kisses and all the little things most families take for granted... I miss loving my wife and her loving me... I could go on and on, but I think you've got the picture...

Daily life isn't really geared towards singles but its more fun to have activities with a significant other I suppose, so thats why it seems that way. I'm alone, no family and its not so fun, better to have partners.
