Me and my husband are currently separated and going to be filing for divorce. We have agreed on the amount of childsupport that works for him and allows him to live and helps me me out. The paerwork for court says he would pay 280 a week but we agreed on 150 a week. I there a sample letter or template we can follow to write up our own agreement??

Is called an "Agreed Order" you title it just like the divorce papers with the file number, parties etc. Everything is the same on the top part. Then you type in 12 bold, underlined caps AGREED ORDER space down two lines and write it is agreed the the defendant (or whichever the father is) and the plaintiff have agreed in the best interest of all parties involved that the child support amount for (child's name who was born to this marriage on (child's date of birth) will be $(monthly amount) and date(s) it's to be paid and the amounts of the payments. Then space down and make a blank for you to sign, him to sign and another for the judge. Put a title under each blank that states the names of the parties. I couldn't find a template you can use, but if you still don't understand, message me your email address and I will send you an example. Good Luck! I don't know about your state, but we take them to the court house here, the judge signs off on it and we file it at the clerks office.

You can attempt to file the papers at the $150/week, and may succeed.

But courts in most states will review "ability to pay" and the states will follow the guidelines dictated in their states.

I'm not sure where you're from, you could look at these worksheets on Colorado's State website..

http://www.coloradodivorcemediation.com/tools/#Child%20Support%20Worksheets

Also, if you search on Yahoo or Google for Child Support Forms you'll see lots of Ads for legal forms. I'm sure you can buy forms appropriate for your state at these sites.

You also may be able to setup a plan where he pays you $150/week now, with a written agreement to save the equivalent difference in College Funds for when your child turns 18. (If the state does not allow your plan.)

I got 150.00 per week when I divorced in 1983!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spend more than that a week for groceries alone. Are you sure that you aren't under estimating the rising costs of raising a child?

phone your local court house they should have a package available for you to do it yourself. I did it for my husband and his ex. congratulations for not being vindictive. You are one in a million. Most women would take him to the cleaners.
