Just heard on the news that Steve has always made it his wish that should he die while filming these animals - that the footage be made public - so while not released yet, it will be! The final decision will be made by his family!
Considering Steve's love of nature and respect for all living things, chances are when the tape is released, assuming the documentary he was working on is completed, it will be in a context showing that these animals are dangerous and should be respected! The last thing Steve would ever want is for a mistake or unfortunate incident to paint his study subject in a bad light! He's always said if he dies - it'll be his own fault, not that of the animal!

i honestly dont think the tape will be released. its in police custody. i am almost positive , by watching the news with live interviews with john stainton, steves producer, and phillip coustea, steves co-host for the documentay that they where filming when he died, that the documentary will air as a tribute but will not show the death of irwin. and i really dont know why you would want to see it. but please look for the documentary to come out. watch it for steve. give the man some respect, he deserves it. i believe the docementary is called Oceans Dangerous or something like that, just watch the animal planet for it.
RIP Steve Irwin
May you stand next to God for eternal life

You, kind sir, are a wack job.
Leave it alone...I hope the family never releases it, would seeing him in his death throes provide you with some sort of turn-on? You may need mental therapy in this case, ok? Go see a professional if that is the purpose.

It is to be shown on tv with his families blessing. it was what he wanted throughout his career. not for sensationalism, but as an example of how dangerous these creatures can be.
