You dont suck at art! You are just better at drawing burn victims than dogs.
My mother is an artist and usually when I draw it turns out totally different than it is supposed to, and looks nothing like art. I keep drawing anyway and am happily surprised by what turn out.
Keep practicing!

I'm sorry for your teacher, that he/she thinks that comments like that are ok!
It's very, very rude, AND can ruin anyone's enthusiasm for doing art.
I read about a woman who's art teacher made fun of her in front of the whole class when she was a kid, and she was so mortified that she didn't do any artwork for ages. But she finally took it up again, got very good, and now even has written books on how to draw!! SO.....
If you like to draw, keep it up! Don't worry about what anyone else says; there are as many styles of art as there are people!! And practice, practice!

i think you should try looking at the thing youre trying to draw and then draw it. like im better at copying pictures by sight than just drawing what someone tells me to. maybe you should try that. i had an art project once and i was going to paint a picture of 2 identicle cats sitting up facing each other from the side view and i drew it over and over on scraps of paper fer like a week until i actually sketched it out on my canvas. it turned out good i think.

Tell your teacher that it is a portrait of her as a burnt dog. You don't suck. Your teacher is lousy. She is getting paid to teach you how to draw. If she can't do that, she should find another job.
Actually, I teach drawing in college. I was thinking of bringing in my dog, a yellow lab, and having the class draw him. Do you think that would be cool?

first of all, your teacher is a rude idiot, ignore him/her
maybe try to spend more time on a picture, and practice by copying other drawings or pictures, make sure u use light strokes so u can erase them easier if u change ur mind,
hope this helps

Don't take any criticism to heart. Just keep plugging away. People will always have something to say, you have to develop enough confidence that you don't get swayed either by praise or criticism.

Your teacher lacks vision.
Some people just aren't very good at visualing representing their inner artistic talents.

you should have told her that it was abstract art. Stick her foot right in her mouth..so much for kids being quick and witty these days.
