got henia at work but didnot turn it in had it for about 6 months

Hernia? If so, no...you are not likely to get it covered under workman's compensation and here is why. From the way you ask the question, you did not file an injury report prior to having had the hernia diagnosed from your physician. If this is the case there is no way you are going to have it covered. However; it would likely be covered under short term disability if it interferes with your work or you need time off to have surgery. A hernia can be life threatening if untreated as the herniated tissue can narcotize (die) and cause infection progressing to septic shock or septicemia (systemic infection). Generally surgery is needed to manage a hernia and may require a short hospital stay (2-5 days) unless complicated. Best of luck!

do you mean hernia? if so you probably have to prove that you got it at work. don't know much about workman's comp because I am to proud to quit working because of an injury. I work through it. I have had hernia's though. very painful the longer you let it go. I did take a week off for that one!

It should but you have to prove you did it at work.
