Where is the best place to go with your family for the day in Virginia?

I live near Va Beach but the jelly fish are horrible right now. I am willing to go anywhere in the state.

I love Colonial Williamsburg, and the mountains- Skyline Drive might be a bit more than a day trip, but could be a fun camping overnight...
The plantations on Rt. 5 are cool, too- Berkeley, Shirley, Evelynton, etc.

If you get on 58 and head east, you can go all the way to the mountains. Well, you have to turn onto 220 and it will take you to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Here in about a month, the leaves will be turning and they have all kinds of little shops and Mabrys Mill. Its a fun day.I also like to go to Kings Dominion. Its about three hours from here (Danville) or you can go to Busch Gardens. Youre not far from it.

Depends where in Virginia .. Virginia beach is awsome.
If winter .. resturants near DC are great.
