Iguanas - Reptiles - Distribution
There exist many subspecies of Iguanas, some of which are unknown to people. The most popular are Green Iguanas, which are found in the rainforests of Central and South America and in drier areas along the coast. They can live high up in the trees or near the ground as their green stripped coloring blends with its natural habitat. There are also Marine Iguanas that are found in Galapagos Islands. They prefer rocky coasts, mangrove swamps, and beaches. Our prehistoric ancestors hunted iguanas for food, today some tribes still eat Iguanas.

The breeding season lasts for three months. Iguanas reproduce prolifically: mature females produce up to 30 eggs per year for about 10 years. The eggs are laid in sand-filled chambers or in volcanic ash.
FEEDING OF IGUANAS
Iguanas are strict herbivores, and shouldn't be fed insects or other protein based food. It may lead to kidney failure and death. In the wild Iguanas feed on leaves, flowers, and fruits. Marine Iguanas feed on marine algae.
Iguanas require fresh vegetation daily, and fresh water should always be available. In captivity Iguanas prefer all kinds of greenery, except lettuce. About the third of their diet should consist of carrot, beans, and broccoli. Also treat Iguanas with mango, papaya, banana, or berries every day.

Keep your house or apartment warmer then usual, because these animals usually like it warmer then what we are familiar living with or hook up a sun lamp some where safe in your residence and be sure not to feed it table scraps, just the type of foods it is suppose to be feed. (for example: human fingers, toes, rabbits, rats, mice, beetles, or any desert bugs).
And always let them sleep in your bed with you.. this way they get feed and stay warm all at the same time.

Good for you. Do some research on caring and caging if you never had one before, please. If you are an inexperienced reptile please get something more suitable for you and not get one just because they look cool.
