it depends on the version of windows you are looking for. new egg has them at pretty good prices i bought my windows xp professional service pack 2 for 8.00 at the university book store and all i did was install. you can get it for about 120.00 at newegg.com either windows xp pro or media centeredition stay away from home edition.

You can purchase the Windows Home Upgrade for a little under $100. Cheaper if you hunt. (have seen as low as $50)
Recommend that you NOT install XP over 2000. You should back up any music, pictures, documents, etc. and format the hard drive. Run the XP install and when it stops and complains that you do not already have Windows on your computer, you put in the Windows 2000 disc and press enter. It will see the disc, decide that you have a license, ask to put the XP disc back in, and then finishing installing XP for you.
XP will run faster thatn 2000 on older computers.

depends. about 50$. You can buy the "upgrade" at Wal-Mart. Saw it the other day. If your computer is older it will run consideribly slower

it cost 99 dollars, but if you order some hardware from newegg.com they you can get the full version for 99 dollars, it is better to have the full version because if you ever have to reformat you will have to install the both operating systems again, but if you have the full version you only need to install that one
