My survey is about operating a pedi-cab company, if you don't know what a pedi-cab is, I will explain it to you. A pedi-cab is a three wheeled bicycle with a coach to transport people to and fro events without having the person walk, Where I live is a mid-sized city that is growing rapidly and we have close to 100,000 people in our city, compared to 35,000 25 years ago. The pedi-cab has a canopy and the one's I seen can accompany up to four adults.

My question is would you pay for a service like this, and if yes how much? tips only? so much for a mile? I believe it would be a benefit for all.....if you can help with some of your own ideas that I did not cover, I would really enjoy reading what you have to say.

Sammy Rickshaw drivers Die young. Pedicab is a hard way to make a living. Given the size of Americans 1,000 pounds of people is what you are saying 4 people? Hope your town has no hills. Motor rickshaw in India the drivers are crazy! I'd go that route. Most like the pedicab are light but powered by a Honda 90cc engine with four speed gear box either automatic no clutch or manual shift with clutch. And Charge with meter just like the cab company's. Other wise you will not be able to pay employees and insurance. Incorporate as soon as you can to keep liability away from you personally. PUT-PUTS or some other clever name, You will need some kind of hook to reel in the money.

I don't know where you're from Sammy, but if you go to the Philippines, that is a very popular form of transportation. The ones I rode in were two wheeled motorcycles with an enclosed side car that could seat two people. It was much cheaper than taking a cab and many people there made their living by driving this pedi-cab. So, yes, I think people would pay for this service, bacause you can charge a lot less than a taxi. It's ideal for a town of your size. Personally, I enjoyed my rides in the pedicabs. It was fun. It would benefit everyone, including the environment, so I think it's a very good idea.

I rode in one this spring in NYC. NEVER AGAIN! I felt awful sitting when the young man was working so hard just to transport me a few blocks. I think pedi-cabs are a great novelty, but I can not imagine anyone using one on a consistent basis. I believe the young man charged about half as much as a regular cab and I made my bf double his tip. Hope this helps.

Yes I think that would be neat, i think you should charge by the mile, otherwise you could loss money if you had to take them a long distance. You should dress up in some kind of outfit to make it more interesting. GOOD LUCK! have fun and make a lot of money.
