She should try to lay on her left side because it gives the baby the most uninterrupted blood flow.

The Left side allows more blood flow. If she is early in pregnancy it does not matter unless she has high blood pressure. The left side lay reduces the amount of work the heart has to do to get the blood through the body. If she is late in pregnancy any position other than flat on her back is ok. Laying on her back it is possible for the placenta to get too much pressure from the baby and decrease blood flow. I would recommend investing in a few body sized pillows and prop her on whichever side is the most comfortable.

According to "What to Expect When You're Expecting," you should learn to sleep on your left side as soon as possible. Not only does it increase your blood flow to the baby, it helps in improving digestion.

As she progresses in her pregnancy, sleeping on her back may cut off her own flow of blood to her heart or legs, causing her to pass out or her legs to go numb.

I've found it really comfortable to sleep on by left side with a pillow between by legs; that way, I'm not putting extra pressure on my hip joints. If I wake up in the middle of the night in a different position, I just readjust. I would suggest that she do the same.

Congratulations on the pregnancy and I wish you both a happy and healthy baby.

i read in a baby book years ago that the left side promotes better blood flow.... but i think whatever is most comfortable for ur girl friend.... ive had three kids and if i was in a position they didnt like, i would get a kick or two in the side. or id be so uncomfy that id turn over.... when u get bigger around 7-9 months its nearly impossible to sleep on ur back. so whatever feels better basically!

left allows the best blood flow to the womb. HOWEVER I'm 23 weeks i sleep however i want. I'm just now getting to where i can't sleep on my belly i was over 5 months before that got uncomfortable. My doc said anything that was comfortable once it was no longer comfortable to change POSITION.

Left side. If she sleeps on her back she needs to try to find another way to sleep because as the baby gets bigger it can be dangerous to sleep on her back. It can cut off the blood flow to the placenta, thus, cutting down on the ammount of oxygen to the baby.

Depends on how far along she is....usually when it's too uncomortable to sleep on your stomach, you shouldn't and when she sleeps on her back if she gets short of breath, she needs to stop that.....best sleeping positions are left or right side...I slept on my belly and sometimes on my back until I was about 7 months pregnant...then it got uncomfortable....she will know.

left side is still the best . . .

you could still continue to hump her anyways. . .

that way she will be able to feel that you still love her . ..

even though she is preggy

They always told me to sleep however I was comfy. If you aren't sure, have her ask her Dr.
