Hi Emily...only Apple employees have the @apple.com email address. The public however can apply for a @mac.com email address through the dotmac program: http://www.apple.com/dotmac/.

I'm afraid @apple.com is probably only used internally at Apple in Cupertino, CA. A .mac address is your only bet.
By the way, Stuart, you are an idiot. I bet if you placed an Apple MacBook next to your PC in a garage sale, not only would the MacBook sell first, but it would probably sell for near retail. Get a life.

There is no '@apple.com' email address available to consumers. There are, however @mac.com adresses available. You can purchase a year's worth of that email address at an Apple store, or you can order it at apple.com/store. It also features one gigabyte of server space for your iWeb, photo casts etc. It's really nice. I have one myself.
Or you can give it a try by signing up for a trial account at http://www.mac.com.
If you purchase from retail, the box contains a serial number, you go to http://www.mac.com to activate it and choose your email address (the part preceeding the @ symbol).

I'm sorry about the Macbook...maybe you can sell it at a garage sale.
For the address, go to http://www.apple.com and click on the .mac tab. Click on free trial or get it now.
