Has anyone else experience big differences when they move from one state to another and can you describe and explain those experiences, differences and any difficulties? Also, how about if you have lived in a state for a long time and have held a job for quite a while and then move to a new state and have to start all over with a new job. Do you have that experience and do you find it hard? What do you think of it? Thanks.

My original thought was to say that no, they are exactly the same--just substitute sand for salt water, and you won't even know the difference. But then I read your entire question, and I thought it deserved a better answer.

I've moved 5 times in my life (not counting moves within the same city). Of course there is some uncertainty and trepidation to it, but overall, I like moving. You see new things, work a new job, meet new people, adapt to a different climate, find a new church, eat a different cuisine, shop at new stores, meet new neighbors, etc.

You feel a little alone at first, but change can be exciting and fun. It's almost like watching yourself evolve. Overall, I think it was a very positive experience. If I had it to do over, I'd still do the same thing. I have friends from high school who continued to live in the same city for many years. But I don't think that's something I'd want to do.

Phoenix is HOT (high temperature) for several months of the year, and you probably won't like it as much as Hawaii. But there is more geographic diversity in Arizona than most people realize, so go and explore!

Hmm, Hawaii is a beautiful paradise with the ocean, mountains, incredible foliage & wildlife.....
Phoenix is blazing hot, all the time, sand & more sand. Too many people, not enough water......
If you have the opportunity to avoid Phoenix, DO IT!

They are the same: hot and humid. Exchange dessert sand for Pacific Ocean, and cactus for orchids, and you've got it.

;-D Phoenix gets a lot less rain, but when it rains, it pours.
