You have to understand evolution to answer that. Breasts evolved to serve a very important biological function ... providing breast milk for babies. Men have evolved to look for mates who will be likely to successfully raise children. Large breasts (and large hips) indicate that a female would be a successful mother, so men who liked women with large large breasts and large hips did a better job of selecting mates who would successfully raise their offspring. Over a long period of time, women evolved to have large breasts and large hips, and men evolved to like those features.

In our culture, men like big breasts probably for the same reason why women like big penises, to put it completely bluntly. Of course, there are people who defy the stereotype...but there are probably a lot (enough) of people for this stereotype to become what is it.

I assume you mean big breasts on women. Big breasts are sexually stimulating. I wonder how much of that stimulation though comes because in our culture breasts are usually hidden. In cultures where breasts are always exposed do you suppose they are still as stimulating? I doubt it.

Because men generally tend to be "rough-and-tumble". Haven't you ever seen two buddys play-box, wrestle...etc. when they meet? Big breasts represent Big-Play. Simple enough.
