You can compute it easily.
Moon is about 400 000 km away (distance varies a little as the orbit is not perfectly circular). Speed of sound at sea level (as it is pointless to have the speed of sound in space, since there is no sound in space) at 15 C is 1225 km/h. Divide one by the other and you get 326.5 hours, or 13.6 days.

Actually the moon is about 240,000 miles away and the speed of sound is 769 mph at 20 degrees C at 1 atmosphere. Sound doesn't travel through space at all, so first you want to make sure it isn't a trick question, but assuming its valid then:
240000 / 769 = ~312 hours. Of course that's also in a straight line, which you're not likely to be able to do either.

Only if you travel on a beam of light would the path to the Moon be a straight line. So to determine your answer it's not as easy as dividing the distance to the moon by the speed of sound. It would be a curved path... longer than the straight line distance.

There are really an infinite number of right answers, since the speed of sound is relative to the medium it travels in. Even in air, it differs from one altitude to the next...I think your teacher is trying to pull the wool over your eyes!

Hi. It will be longer than you think. Not related to your research but to get to the Sun at the speed of a jumbo jet would take about 12 years.
