According to my friends, they keep getting messages saying i've signed out, then back in, often several minutes at a time. I have not signed out, i am typing and sending messages that they are not receiving.

u are actually signed out of yahoo messenger cos of some net disconnection, check out ur network how fast is it and how well its receiving this happens many a times even with me as my network will be disconnected often and i may not notice it, try logging out and in again, when u have sent many messages and not receiving any frm any of ur online frnds thn think tht u r logged out, sign out and sign in again, thts nothing wrong with yahoo but its ur system problem or network problem

uninstall yahoo messenger then install it again .
if it still u might b having spyware u might not sure .
if you want get free anti-spyware from microsoft.com "defender" it helps removes such problems gdluc

you have to click on your name right next to your display image then go to the status you want
